Cone Shell

Artist: Anne Neil, Steve Tepper

Asset Type: Sculpture

Year of Work: 2005

Location: 1 Preston Street, Como - Melville Parade

Provenance: City of South Perth

Description: Since settlement, this beautiful river location at Como has been a most popular place to spend leisure and free time. It was a popular holiday destination early last century, particularly for those from the bush - the river and sand being a great attraction. This leads us to the idea of using shells collected along the beach as a source of inspiration – a reference to holidays and playing in the sand.
